Last week was filled with valuable learning and deep reflection. I’m happy to share that I had the opportunity to be part of the PAL Works Launch — a collective event that brought together over 100 senior leaders from government, EdTech, philanthropy, and research to shape the future of Personalized Adaptive Learning (PAL) in India’s public education system.
I am sharing some key takeaways from the event that might inspire you:
- Collaboration at Scale: PAL Works is a coalition of 20+ organizations — including EdTech innovators, nonprofits, research bodies, and government stakeholders, coming together to scale PAL solutions for public education.
- Vision & Mission: A shared belief that every child in India deserves a personalized and adaptive learning journey. The mission is to empower students in government schools to achieve better learning outcomes through technology-enabled PAL solutions.
- Insights from ASER 2024: While today’s generation is tech-savvy, increased access to the internet is leading to distractions and misuse. This highlights why offline PAL content is crucial to ensure meaningful, distraction-free learning, especially when devices are used by children independently.
- Ground Realities and State-Led Innovations: The sessions featured successful PAL implementation stories from states such as Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh, proving that EdTech, when deployed thoughtfully, can bridge real learning gaps.
- Need for Systemic Change: Discussions emphasized the importance of systems-level efforts drawing on progress made under programs such as NIPUN Bharat and Vidya Pravesh, and how PAL can accelerate these outcomes.
- From Pilot to Mainstream: There was a strong focus on refining PAL products, simplifying public procurement processes, building scalable deployment playbooks, and increasing awareness among all stakeholders.
It was a privilege to present our iPrep PAL solution alongside our 2 project partners Lotus Petal Foundation and Aide et Action. Their support was invaluable, and it was heartening to see the progress their students have made using iPrep PAL regularly.
One message that stayed with me came from Santhosh Mathew of the Gates Foundation:
“While we’re ensuring that students use PAL to address their learning gaps, we must equally focus on empowering teachers — helping them interpret student data to personalize instruction and truly improve outcomes.”
That’s the mindset shift PAL represents — it’s not just a product, but a collective movement toward reimagining learning in a way that’s inclusive, adaptive, and rooted in student and teacher empowerment.
A heartfelt thank you to the PAL Collective for creating this space for honest, purposeful dialogue. We are excited for what lies ahead — more conversations, more insights, and most importantly, more impact.
With our PAL solution, we are equally focused on helping students bridge their learning gaps and empowering teachers to make data-informed decisions. By enabling teachers to interpret student usage data, we are enabling them to identify both individual and class-wide learning gaps — allowing them to personalize their teaching, enhance lesson delivery, and improve lesson planning.
