Digital Content for Smart TVs: A Noida School Teachers’ Suggestion to Move Beyond Hardware

Across many schools today, Smart TVs are being installed with the hope that classrooms will automatically become more engaging and effective. Once the screens are mounted and powered on, the classroom certainly looks digitally enabled. But a question often emerges during actual teaching: What exactly should teachers show on these screens while explaining concepts from the syllabus? When Smart TVs do not have curriculum-aligned digital content readily available, teachers often use the device only occasionally for videos, presentations, or internet searches instead of making it a consistent part of classroom instruction.
A similar situation unfolded at a co-educational intermediate school in Noida, Uttar Pradesh
An NGO had installed Smart TVs in 10 classrooms to support digital learning. Teachers began using them during lessons, but soon realized that the screens did not have structured academic content aligned with the UP Board curriculum. While the hardware was functioning well, the classroom still lacked digital material that could directly support daily teaching. Gradually, this gap became evident during daily classroom instruction, prompting the school to look for a way to make the Smart TVs more meaningful for teaching and learning.
At this point, a few teachers stepped forward and shared an important insight.
“We already have one Smart Classroom from a previous initiative where iPrep digital content is pre-installed. We are already using it and are familiar with the platform. It has offline UP Board–aligned content for Classes 1 to 12, available in both Hindi and English medium. The content in it also has chapter-wise mapped videos, practice questions, bilingual explanations, and assessments that support our classroom lessons.”
Acting on this suggestion, the teachers approached the NGO partner that had implemented the Smart TVs and explained the gap they were facing during classroom teaching. They recommended integrating iPrep’s curriculum-aligned digital content so that teachers could use smart classes more effectively during lessons. Following this discussion, the NGO partner connected with the iDream Education team to enable iPrep on the existing Smart TVs through an app-based activation.
This led to a quick collaboration that addressed the smart class implementation gap within a few days of the Smart TVs’ installation. By enabling the iPrep platform through app-based activation, the devices now deliver structured, curriculum-aligned digital content. What began as a hardware deployment quickly became a more meaningful classroom resource that teachers could actively use while explaining concepts during lessons.
Since several teachers were already familiar with the platform from the earlier Smart Classroom, the transition required very little handholding. A one-time onsite orientation session demonstrated how teachers could access the content on the Smart TVs. Because teachers already knew the interface, lesson flow, and assessments, adoption happened naturally.
So What Exactly Does the Digital Content for Smart TVs in Noida Now Offer Teachers and Students?

The Smart TV setup now integrates with an LMS platform that provides UP Board–aligned digital content for Classes 1 to 12 in both Hindi and English. This digital access supports classroom learning for nearly 550 students and 25 teachers in the school.
To support diverse learning styles and classroom needs, the platform offers a range of structured digital resources that teachers can use during regular lessons. Animated video explanations help simplify complex concepts, while MCQ-based practice questions with instant feedback reinforce learning. Beyond core lessons, DIY activity videos in Mathematics and Science, interactive simulations, and multimedia learning resources provide multiple ways for teachers to explain topics and keep students engaged during classroom instruction.
