Bringing Smart Classes at Learning Centres in Gurugram
Digital learning is increasingly becoming essential for school education, and this need extends equally to community-based learning centres. Recognizing this, smart classes are being introduced at multiple learning centres to strengthen the teaching-learning experience and bring curriculum-aligned digital resources closer to students.
With a similar focus, an education-focused NGO, in collaboration with iDream Education, introduced smart class setups at two learning centres in Gurugram. By enabling easy access to digital tools and structured content. The program aims to support teachers in delivering more effective lessons while helping students understand concepts more clearly and consistently.
About the Learning Centres in Gurugram
The smart class setup was implemented at two learning centres in Gurugram— Shiksha Education Centre and Naya Savera Foundation. Both of Centres are well-maintained and supported by active management teams. Each centre has multiple classrooms and a structured academic environment where teachers and students demonstrate strong discipline and regular engagement in learning activities.
One of the centres also had prior exposure to digital learning content, which played an important role in ensuring smoother adoption of the smart class solution. Teachers were already somewhat familiar with using digital resources in instruction, enabling faster onboarding and more confident classroom usage from the beginning.
Smart Class Infrastructure and Digital Content Setup
The smart classes at the learning centres were set up using LG 65-inch Interactive Flat Panels (IFPs). Each panel was enabled with a pre-installed LMS and preloaded offline-accessible digital content. Content covered Classes 6th to 10th at Naya Savera Foundation and Classes 5th to 8th at Shiksha Education Centre. This ensures uninterrupted usage even without continuous internet connectivity.
Digital content aligns with the Haryana Board curriculum at both centres, enabling direct use in regular classroom instruction. All digital resources are available in both Hindi and English to support diverse learner needs and classroom contexts.
The content repository includes multimedia-based concept explanations, syllabus-mapped digital textbooks, and practice MCQs across key subjects such as Mathematics, EVS, Science, Social Science, and Languages. Smart class content also includes beyond academic learning resources, such as DIY activity videos, and general reading materials to support different learning levels and interests.

The teacher training and onboarding sessions brought encouraging insights
One of the most rewarding observations showed that learning centre teachers already knew iPrep digital content from an earlier partner-led digital initiative. When that license period ended, they temporarily lost access, so receiving it again as part of this smart class setup made them genuinely happy and motivated to restart digital classroom usage.
Even with limited teacher availability on training day, available teachers participated actively and practiced hands-on with the platform. Their prior exposure helped accelerate the learning curve and made the onboarding process smoother and more interactive.
Teachers appreciated the subject-wise organisation of digital content the most and highlighted the practice sections, particularly MCQs, as highly useful for classroom reinforcement. Overall, the training helped build strong confidence among teachers for regular classroom use.
Going forward, we will remain closely connected with teachers at both learning centres and support them during the adoption phase
