Smart Classes Implementation in Gurugram and Karnataka Schools Through IFP, LMS & Digital Content

With the objective to accelerate digitalization of classrooms, an NGO working in the education space collaborated with us to implement smart classes in Gurugram and Karnataka schools. The initiative covered two distinct learning environments – one being a learning centre operating in a slum area of Gurugram in Haryana, and the other a school located in a reasonably remote region of Karnataka.
Despite the contrast in geographies and infrastructure, the common goal remained the same: to ensure students receive engaging, and effective learning experience through technology-enabled classrooms.
Smart Classroom Setup with LMS & Content
Under this initiative, smart classrooms were set up using 65-inch LG Android IFP panels, each equipped with a pre-installed LMS and offline smart class content aligned to the respective state boards. The centre in Gurugram, Haryana received Haryana Board–aligned digital content in Hindi and English for Classes 1 to 10, supporting students from nearby government schools who visit the centre like a tuition space for concept clarity and personalised learning. Meanwhile, the Karnataka school was enabled with Karnataka Board–aligned digital content for Classes 1 to 10, available in both English and Kannada medium, making learning accessible and relatable for students in the region.
Our experience from smart class training
When our team member reached the Haryana location, it was evident that the implementation was taking place in a slum area. The smart panel had been installed inside a rented house, where one wall was in reasonably good condition, while the surrounding houses reflected a largely dilapidated environment. Yet, what stood out was not the limitation of space, but the commitment to learning.
Teachers at both the centre in Gurugram and the school in Karnataka shared strong enthusiasm toward adopting the digital content in their daily teaching. They expressed confidence that regular use of smart classes would surely improve conceptual understanding through video lessons, interactive practice questions, and quick revision notes. They also shared that smart class setup would attract more students to actively participate in learning at the centre.
What stood out during the training visit,
It was especially inspiring to see a designated music teacher regularly visiting the centre to provide singing lessons – highlighting a holistic approach to education even in the most constrained settings.
Going forward, we will remain continuously connected with teachers at both locations, supporting them through the adoption phase and guiding them wherever required. Outcomes and impact will start being tracked after one month of usage. This will help us understand how smart classes in Gurugram and Karnataka schools are influencing learning, attendance, and overall classroom effectiveness, ensuring the initiative delivers meaningful, measurable change on the ground.
