Bringing Smart Classrooms in Tribal Government Schools of Rajasthan

Tribal government schools serve many of India’s last-mile learners – students studying in geographically remote areas where access to quality academic resources has historically been limited. For these schools, strengthening classroom learning is critical to ensuring that students not only attend school but are also able to understand concepts clearly and keep pace with the curriculum.
With this objective, an education-focused NGO collaborated with iDream Education to introduce Smart Classrooms in tribal government schools across Rajasthan’s remote districts. The intervention was designed specifically to support classroom teaching and make learning a joyful learning experience. Through this approach, smart classrooms serve as practical tools that help teachers deliver clearer explanations in the lessons. It also create more engaging learning experiences for students studying in some of Rajasthan’s most remote tribal regions.
From Field Assessment to Smart Classroom Setup Across 30 Tribal Schools
The initiative began with on-ground field assessments across tribal regions of Rajasthan to understand school infrastructure, classroom needs, and the readiness of teachers to adopt digital teaching tools. Based on these assessments, the smart class implementation selected government schools across Jodhpur, Pali, Jaisalmer, and Barmer.
The implementation initially started in 20 government schools, allowing the project team to closely observe classroom usage, teacher adoption, and operational requirements. As the model demonstrated practical classroom integration and consistent usage, the initiative subsequently expanded to 30 schools within the same districts.
Each selected school was equipped with a Smart Class setup featuring:
An Interactive Flat Panel integrated with a Learning Management System (LMS). The LMS provided Rajasthan Board-aligned digital learning content for Classes 1 to 12, available in both Hindi and English medium. The complete Smart Class setup across all locations is accessible offline, ensuring seamless access to digital teaching resources and other learning resources.
Through this initiative, smart classrooms reached over 1,500 students and 150 teachers across the 30 schools. iDream smart classrooms in tribal schools of Rajasthan are enabling access to a reliable & classroom-aligned digital learning support.
Let us Know About Teacher Training and Onboarding Experiences

With 30 schools spread across multiple districts, conducting teacher training required careful coordination and strong on-ground support. Multiple members of the implementation team conducted the training sessions to ensure smooth deployment, effective teacher onboarding, and timely support across all locations.
During these sessions, the team introduced teachers to the iPrep LMS platform and guided them step by step on how to use the Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) in their classrooms. The training focused not only on operating the technology but also on helping teachers understand how and when to effectively integrate smart class content into their daily lessons. Teachers explored different content categories available on the platform, such as animated video lessons, practice materials, syllabus books, notes, and simulations and learned how each resource could support different stages of classroom teaching.
A key objective of the training was to ensure that smart classrooms became a regular part of the teaching routine, rather than an occasional activity. The team encouraged teachers to align digital content with textbook chapters and classroom schedules so that the technology could naturally complement their existing teaching methods.
For the implementation team, the training journey itself became a memorable experience. Traveling to tribal schools across remote regions often meant navigating long distances and coordinating local transportation with the help of community members. Reaching these last-mile schools is not predictable or easy, but it reflects the very purpose of the initiative: bringing meaningful learning resources closer to students who need them the most.
