Across many constituencies in India, it has been widely experienced that impactful, holistic, and career-oriented school education is one of the most powerful drivers of transformation for underserved communities. When students receive access to quality learning resources, it strengthens their academic journey & shapes the future growth and development of the region. To make this possible, multiple initiatives and learning projects are needed to build an ecosystem that nurtures, supports, inspires, and handholds rural students as they progress towards inclusive growth and opportunities in life. Strengthening access to knowledge resources is a key part of this ecosystem.

One such forward-looking initiative is the establishment of a rich and comprehensive E- library platform for schools students by Hon. MLA of Benaulim, Goa.

In a significant step in this direction, the Honourable MLA of the Benaulim constituency, Capt. Venzy Viegas, has launched an E-Library for school students through the MLA LAD Fund. This initiative aims to strengthen digital learning access for students across the constituency. We are pleased to share that iDream Education is supporting this initiative as the solution and implementation partner, enabling students and teachers access to over 10,000 digital books.

About Inauguration of the Digital Library Initiative in Benaulim

The e-Library for school students was inaugurated in the presence of Shri Arvind Kejriwal, Smt. Atishi, and esteemed members of the Zila Parishad, marking an important step toward strengthening digital learning access for government school students in the Benaulim constituency.

In its very first phase, the Digital Library platform has already been implemented across 5 schools, enabling 1,904 students to access a rich repository of over 10,000 digital books, animated learning content, and diverse educational resources. Through this initiative, students now have structured access to learning and reading materials that can support their academic journey while also nurturing curiosity and self-learning habits. The project has been designed to ensure that students studying in government schools are able to benefit from modern digital learning resources, similar to those increasingly available in well-resourced institutions.

Building on the success of the first phase, the initiative aims to expand the e-Library platform to all schools in the Benaulim constituency in the upcoming phase

Once completed, the project will benefit nearly 4,500 students, ensuring that every child in the constituency gains equitable access to quality digital learning and reading resources.

The e-Library for School students in Goa has been launched with the broader objective of bringing a technological revolution in the field of education. By providing affordable, structured, and curriculum-aligned digital content, the initiative seeks to create an enabling environment where students can explore knowledge beyond textbooks, strengthen their understanding of concepts, and develop a sustained interest in reading and learning.

Why Strengthening Digital Learning Ecosystems in Schools is Essential

Schools today are expected to support students with far more than just textbooks. Curriculum-aligned learning content, easy-to-use digital platforms for teachers, and consistent access to books and supplementary resources for students have become essential components of a strong education ecosystem.

Teachers need platforms that allow them to quickly find relevant content, explain concepts effectively, and guide students beyond rote learning. At the same time, students require continuous access to reading materials, revision resources, and conceptual learning support that can help them strengthen their understanding both inside and outside the classroom.

Alongside academic learning, the demand for competitive exam readiness, foundational literacy, and digital fluency is increasing rapidly – especially in Tier 2, Tier 3, and rural constituencies, where access to quality learning resources has traditionally been limited. Providing structured digital libraries in schools helps bridge these gaps by ensuring that students have reliable and organized access to knowledge resources that support both their academic and future aspirations.

Investing in Students Today Means Building a Stronger Future for India

Across many regions in India today, thousands of students continue their education with whatever limited resources are available to them. Many still do not have consistent access to a wide range of books, reference materials, or supplementary learning resources, which limits their exposure to knowledge and opportunities beyond textbooks.

Among these students are those who will go on to compete at national levels, preparing for higher education and competitive examinations. Others will build meaningful careers within their own communities, contributing to local development and growth. Regardless of the path they take, all of them depend on the learning environment we create for them today. We often measure development through roads, buildings, and physical infrastructure. While these are important indicators of progress, the true long-term strength of India lies in how well its students are prepared for the future. And, initiatives such as e-libraries for school students play an important role in building this foundation by ensuring that students receive structured, affordable, and meaningful access to learning resources that support their academic growth and lifelong learning.

We encourage education stakeholders across India to consider implementing Digital Library–based initiatives in schools

Such an e-library solution can serve as a one-stop, inclusive digital repository, providing students with structured access to books, curriculum-aligned learning resources, and supplementary content that supports both academic learning and future aspirations.

When implemented at scale, Digital Libraries can help ensure that students – regardless of geography or background, have access to quality learning materials, reading resources, and exam preparation support within their own school ecosystem. This access can play a significant role in strengthening academic confidence, learning continuity, and career readiness for millions of students.

At iDream Education, we strongly believe in the potential of Digital Libraries for school education. We would be happy to collaborate with education departments, institutions, and development partners to set up and implement such learning ecosystems in schools across India.

If structured digital access to books, curriculum-aligned content, and exam preparation resources can be ensured within schools at scale, it has the potential to quietly transform the academic confidence of an entire generation of learners.
