Smart Class in Sitapur, UP: How Smart Classes Are Strengthening Teaching and Learning

Across Uttar Pradesh, the digital education ecosystem is steadily expanding through collective efforts of government initiatives, CSR programs, and mission-driven NGOs. From small rural schools to large district-level transformations, the intent is clear: strengthen classrooms with technology that truly supports teachers and enhances student learning outcomes.

At iDream Education, we have had the chance of being part of this larger movement. By implementing digital learning solutions across multiple districts of Uttar Pradesh through sustained collaborations with NGO, CSR, and government partners. Each implementation, whether at a small, medium, or large scale, reinforces one belief: technology in schools must be purposeful, teacher-friendly, and aligned with curriculum goals.

This time, our journey led us to Sitapur where, in collaboration with one of our long-term NGO partners, we introduced a smart class in Sitapur government school. With the objective to strengthen classroom teaching, make lessons more interactive, and improve classroom engagement. The focus was not merely on installing devices, but on enabling a structured, sustainable digital learning environment that supports both teachers and learners.

The key components of the Smart Class in Sitapur implementation comprise:

The implementation happened at Government Middle School-Rudha, located in Sitapur, affiliated with the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UP Board). 

Under this initiative, 

  • A 65-inch Samsung Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) smart class panel was installed in the school. The device comes preinstalled with a dedicated Smart Class LMS and UP Board–aligned digital content for Classes 6 to 8. 
  • The complete setup is accessible offline, ensuring uninterrupted classroom usage even in limited connectivity conditions. The system captures usage data offline and automatically syncs it to a centralized reporting dashboard whenever the device connects to the internet.
  • The alignment of smart classes with the UP Board curriculum ensures that the digital learning setup directly strengthens day-to-day classroom teaching instead of operating as a separate or parallel system.

Implementation is followed by Experiential Teacher Training

On the day of the training, one encouraging observation stood out. Despite being a rural school, the teachers were already familiar with digital devices. Digital familiarity significantly strengthened teacher confidence. With the positively influenced the adoption of the smart class solution in their daily teaching routine.

The training was structured, practical, and hands-on. It covered essential aspects such as:

  • Exploring the smart class interface and navigating the LMS
  • Understanding how to switch language, classes, subjects, categories & how to track usage
  • How to use content categories such as practice for classroom quizzes, animated video content for explaining complex concepts & lot more

After the guided walkthrough, teachers began exploring the smart class content to check its alignment with their textbooks. Their response was overwhelmingly positive – they were pleased to see the exact UP board-aligned digital content. 

We are hopeful that this IFP-based smart class in Sitapur, UP, will strengthen teaching and learning in the school. We look forward to closely tracking usage and learning outcomes. And we will continue to monitor progress and share impact reports with project officials and administrators.
