Bringing offline curriculum aligned digital learning to government schools in Buxwaha, MP

For students in areas with limited or no internet connectivity, access to digital learning can remain out of reach — even when the need for engaging, curriculum-aligned resources is clear. In Buxwaha tehsil, Chhatarpur district, Madhya Pradesh, a partnership between a leading non-profit organisation committed to quality education for underserved children and iDream is helping address this gap.

Together, we established Smart Classrooms in two government schools, giving students access to curriculum-aligned digital learning content completely offline on smart class hardware. The solution offers the Madhya Pradesh State Board curriculum, allowing digital resources to become part of everyday classroom instruction without relying on internet connectivity.

Working together to enable digital learning

The initiative brought together the partner organisation, participating government schools and iDream to establish the infrastructure and content needed for technology-enabled learning. The focus was not simply on introducing devices, but on making digital content usable within the realities of classrooms in a remote setting.

Once the Smart Classrooms were established, teachers began integrating digital content alongside their existing teaching practices. Rather than replacing classroom instruction, the solution became an additional resource that teachers could use to introduce concepts, explain topics and make lessons more interactive.

Within few months of implementation, we observed teachers using the Smart Classroom for an average of 30 minutes each day. Digital learning was consistently blended with traditional teaching methods, creating classroom sessions that were more engaging, interactive and concept-driven.

The experience in Buxwaha demonstrates how offline digital learning infrastructure can help schools overcome connectivity constraints while keeping teachers at the centre of classroom instruction.
