CSR Smart Classroom Initiative: Enabling Digital Learning Across 540 Education Centres

Meaningful digital learning begins when teachers can confidently integrate technology into everyday classroom instruction. With this vision, the non-profit foundation partnered with iDream Education to strengthen digital learning across 540 Education Centres, supporting teachers with curriculum-aligned digital resources that made classroom learning more engaging for learners.

The programme was introduced to address a common challenge across learning centres serving underserved communities. While digital learning offers significant opportunities, teachers often need easy-to-use, curriculum-aligned resources that fit naturally into everyday teaching. The objective was to enable teachers with practical digital tools that support concept clarity, encourage learner participation, and strengthen classroom instruction.

The implementation brought together the foundation, which manages its Education Centres across eight states, and iDream Education, which provided the Smart Classroom solution and implementation support. Together, the organisations worked to ensure that technology deployment, teacher preparedness, and classroom readiness progressed hand in hand across all 540 centres.

The initiative introduced the Smart Classroom solution across the entire network of Education Centres.

Teachers gained access to curriculum-aligned digital resources, including video lessons, digital books, practice questions, simulations, revision notes, and life skills content. Designed to complement rather than replace classroom teaching, the solution enabled teachers to integrate digital resources naturally into their daily lessons while creating more interactive learning experiences for learners.

Implementation followed a phased rollout, enabling systematic deployment, onboarding, and continuous support across multiple states. Teacher orientation sessions familiarised educators with the platform, while implementation teams provided guidance on integrating digital content into lesson plans and classroom routines. Centres received ongoing implementation support to ensure devices, content access, and classroom processes were in place before digital instruction began.

During implementation, centres demonstrated strong operational readiness across the network.

Centre activation ranged from 87% to 100% across the three rollout phases, reflecting successful deployment and adoption. As the programme expanded, digital learning extended from primary grades (Classes 4–5) to middle school (Classes 6–8), demonstrating the solution’s adaptability across different learning contexts. Teachers consistently integrated digital resources into classroom instruction, with video lessons accounting for 75–95% of platform usage. On average, each device supported the delivery of 5–13 curriculum-aligned micro-learning concepts each day, contributing to nearly 14,000 learning hours during the first year of implementation.

Building on this foundation, the next phase will focus on strengthening classroom integration, encouraging greater use of practice-based learning resources, and supporting sustained digital adoption across all Education Centres. Together, these efforts will continue enabling teachers to use digital resources confidently as part of everyday classroom practice.
