Implementing Smart Classrooms to Support Holistic Learning in Gujarat
As part of its initiative focused on Striving for Holistic Development, a non-profit organisation committed to empowering underserved communities through education, skill development, and sustainable social initiatives partnered with iDream Education to strengthen digital learning in schools across Gujarat.
The programme was introduced to address a challenge experienced in many classrooms serving underserved communities. While teachers were committed to helping every learner succeed, limited access to quality digital learning resources often meant lessons relied primarily on conventional teaching methods. Explaining abstract concepts, accommodating different learning needs, and creating engaging classroom experiences could therefore be challenging.
Working together, the Foundation and iDream Education implemented the Smart Classroom solution in a school. The solution provides Gujarat Board-aligned digital content that functions entirely offline, ensuring teachers and students can access learning resources regardless of internet availability. The platform includes animated videos, practice, notes, assessments and more multilingual content designed to support everyday classroom teaching.
Preparing teachers was central to the implementation. Orientation and hands-on training sessions introduced teachers to the platform and demonstrated practical ways to integrate digital content into daily lessons. Teachers also received implementation support as they began using the solution in classrooms, helping them build confidence in navigating the platform and selecting appropriate resources for different topics and learning levels.
During implementation, teachers increasingly incorporated digital resources into regular classroom instruction. Video animations and assessments are being used by teachers to introduce and reinforce concepts.
The next phase of the programme will focus on supporting continued classroom integration and teacher adoption, ensuring that digital resources remain a practical part of everyday teaching and learning.
