Kanchan Kumari, a 25-year-old with a heart full of passion, hails from the remote village of Agheria near Hussainabad in Palamu District, Jharkhand. Born and raised in a supportive environment, Kanchan’s father played a significant role in encouraging her to pursue education and be a person who drives positive change in the lives of those who need it the most.
Fuelled by her father’s support,
Kanchan studied till B.com and then became a dedicated NGO worker, focusing on rural education and awareness of girls in her village. Recognizing the scarcity of teachers in local schools, she dedicates two hours every day to teaching, forming strong bonds with her students and inspiring them not only to study but to excel in their lives.
Beyond rural education, Kanchan’s passion extended to empowering girls in her village.
She conducts awareness sessions on their rights, teaching them how to navigate official processes, launch FIRs in case of wrongdoing, and access government initiatives supporting education and women’s rights. Kanchan’s commitment went beyond words as she accompanied girls to official departments, introducing them to government officials who they could reach out to whenever needed.
