The Ministry of Education has launched the SWAYAM Plus portal, an upgraded version of the Study Webs of Active-Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) portal. It was launched by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on February 27, 2024. The SWAYAM Plus portal is poised to make college graduates more job-ready and competitive in the evolving job market. IIT Madras, among the founder institutions of SWAYAM-NPTEL, will be managing the platform.

SWAYAM, India’s indigenous MOOC platform, was established by the Government of India on July 9, 2017, with the primary aim of upholding- access, equity, and quality of education in the country. The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) and the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) have contributed various online courses to the SWAYAM portal.
