Personalized adaptive learning with PAL App, states of India

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a significant disruption in the education sector, leading to widespread learning loss among students. To mitigate this issue, many states in India have implemented personalized adaptive learning (PAL) to help students catch up on lost learning.

Haryana leads India with the adoption of tablet-based personalized learning and plans to implement a tablet-based learning program for all 5 lakh government school students in classes 10 to 12. Rajasthan launched the largest Personalized and Adaptive Learning (PAL) program to recoup Covid-19 learning loss for 2 million students. Andhra Pradesh plans to introduce a personalized adaptive learning system for 51 high schools, and other states adopt/plan to adopt PAL for schools and beyond.

What is PAL?

PAL is a student-centred approach that tailors teaching methods, content, and pace to the unique learning needs of each student. This individualized approach can significantly improve the learning outcomes of students and help them cope with the learning level loss caused by the pandemic.

In this blog post, we will explore the iPrep PAL App designed for enjoyable & personalized adaptive learning on tablets, notebooks, and mobile for 3rd to 12th all subjects in both English and Hindi medium.

What sets iPrep PAL apart from other digital learning solutions?

  • Based on Edtech Tulna Framework: iPrep PAL is based on the EdTech Tulna framework for Personalized Adaptive Learning and works both offline and online modes across various devices such as Tablets, Notebooks, and mobile devices.
  • Diagnostic Test: Every chapter has a diagnostic test that determines a personalized learning path with practice questions and remedial video lessons as per Bloom’s Taxonomy.
  • Practice with instant feedback: To help students cover their learning gaps and master each topic, iPrep PAL enables a combination of practice questions that provide feedback and remedial video content. By using this approach, students are given an opportunity to learn from their mistakes and receive additional guidance to improve their understanding of each topic. With this approach, iPrep PAL aims to ensure that students have a strong grasp of every topic covered, ultimately leading to better academic performance.
  • Access to the content of all grades: The learning path on the iPrep PAL app is specifically designed to guide students towards a connected sequence of topics from previous junior classes, enabling them to address any historical learning gaps and achieve proficiency in their grade level. By following this tailored path, students are provided with a comprehensive and cohesive learning experience that builds on their existing knowledge and allows them to reach their full potential.
  • Final Test: At the end of each chapter, students have to attempt a final test to assess the degree to which their desired learning outcomes have been achieved. This test is designed to evaluate the student’s comprehension and retention of the learning material covered in the chapter and to determine whether they have met the learning objectives.
  • Sync with the state’s DIKSHA platform: iPrep PAL can be synchronized with the state’s DIKSHA platform through an API, enabling seamless access to learning materials. Additionally, the platform can integrate usage reporting to a central MIS, providing insight into students’ engagement and performance.
