Our collaboration with the Smile Foundation to implement iPrep Digital Class in two schools in Kolkata, West Bengal, exemplifies the joy education technology can bring to the lives of teachers and students.

The Smile Foundation Partnership

Working alongside the Smile Foundation has always been an inspiring journey for our team. Their commitment to improving education and empowering teachers and students is truly commendable. This recent collaboration for the implementation of smart classrooms in 2 schools in Kolkata is an example of the same.

A Unique Challenge

During our initial visits to the schools, we encountered a unique situation. The ongoing Panchayat elections in town meant that most teachers were on duty. However, with the invaluable assistance of some Smile Foundation members, we managed to persuade the teachers to attend training sessions after regular school hours.

Smart Class Training

What made this training truly exceptional for the teachers was the alignment of our content with the West Bengal Board curriculum, spanning classes from 1st to 10th. They were happy to see content of textbooks in multi-categories and in three languages – Bengali, Hindi, and English, catering to the diverse linguistic needs of the students. 

Positive Teacher Engagement

The teachers eagerly participated in the training sessions, and they shared their excitement about the possibilities that the smart classroom setup could offer. Some teachers particularly appreciated the option to save PDFs directly on the Interactive Flat Display Panel, allowing them to easily access and teach or review specific topics at their convenience. Some praised the annotation feature in IFPs, as it enabled teachers to freeze the screen and highlight content for more in-depth explanations. 

Impact and Belief

Experiencing the enthusiasm of teachers and our partners, such as the Smile Foundation, keeps reaffirming our belief in digitising schools to change lives. It’s moments like these that remind us of the incredible impact we can make when we come together to enhance the learning journey of last mile learners.
